Present: Board Members: Richard Belliveau, Andrew Arsenault, Bill Cowell, Ken Nelson, James Murdock, Steve Meltzer, and Richard Morgenstern


The Friends of the First Company Governorís Horse Guards held a board meeting on 24 May 2011 to review its financial position and conduct any new business that arises.


Minutes - The meeting minutes of 04-22-2011 were reviewed and approved. Motion made by Steve Meltzer and 2nd by Ken Nelson.


Financial Review:-Ken Nelson reported that the balance in Friends accounts is $96,050.66 as of 12/31/2010 which would be reduced by $15,000 once the donation check to 1GHG was cut this month. See attached financial report for details..


Golf Committee Steve Meltzer reported that the golf committee was still moving forward with this yearís golf tournament. The progress was slow to date but moving forward.


Horse Show Horse Show scheduled for 19 June, 2011.The coverage for the insurance for this yearís horse show has not yet been completed at a cost of $250.00.


Donations Status

        Check to be issued for the 2011 donationto the 1GHG


Resolution to limit funds donated Motion: For a resolution that the Friends of 1GHG do not allocate more than100% of the net income from the prior year to be donated in the upcoming year was withdrawn from consideration by Bill Cowell.

New Business.

  1. Board member Richard Morgenstern has submitted his letter of resignation effective today. The board thanked him for his 5years on the board and assistance with the golf tournament.
  2. By-laws. The board members and officers of the Friends will review the by laws of the organization to insure that we are following the intent of the original by laws. Some items that will need modification are: Term limits of board members, annual meeting date, and administration of scholarship. A motion was made by Rich Belliveau and seconded by Ken Nelson that we have legal review of the by-laws to insure that organization is notout of compliance with the by-laws for the organization. This motion was approved byall board members.
  3. Web-site- Bill Cowell has been attempting to improve the quality of the Friends web site by adding Pay-pal to the site and improving its appearance. Mike Downes has offered his assis
  4. tance with the task and will be working with Bill Cowell to meet this objective.
