Need for funding to support horses: Major Michael Downes presented a request (see attached ) to the Friends to determine if it would be possible for the Friends of 1GHG to assist financially to support horses. The proposal indicated that the military department has ordered the troop to reduce its herd size to 17 horses. Major Downes indicated that having only 17 horses was going to put a hard ship on the troop and that he would like to keep the herd at twenty horses. In order to accomplish this he is looking for donations to $3,386.35 for each additional horse per year. Major Downes said that he would be willing to discuss options that would allow the troop to maintain the herd size above the 17 authorized limit.

The board agreed to discuss the proposal, discuss with Major Downes within the next few weeks and thanked him for his time.

The Major also indicated that the troop would be going to Camp Rell 8 August to 14 August, 2010
